about me
my name is manisha thapa, i am a bhaktapur, nepal native, and i have an immense love for my earth.
i love to do many things - trekking being one of my favorites. throughout childhood, i have disliked everyone who would suggest me not to be a
'jack of all.'

i paint. painting is one thing I feel i probably should have made my career in. i like taking my paintings to the hills and mountains across Nepal during my travel, i do it whenever i can. i write. i love storytelling (story-writing rather). i love addressing masses of people. the podium is my safe and happy place. i like reading books - curricular and extracurricular. fictions don't excite me, autobiographies are my go-to.
politics excites me; don't be surprised if I run for office someday. tee-hee. i've led street protests, interned for some prominent political leaders, and national commissions, been engaged in political leadership programs, taken political science courses, and so.
traveling (trekking specifically) is a hobby i developed unplanned. covid came to my life as a blessing in many ways - having done my first trek being one of those. phew, i found the thing i wanted to cling to for the rest of my life after the trek. baba's work took my family to many districts of terai during my childhood, but the 2020 trek to gosaikunda changed my perspective towards travel, turning me into an absolute mountain fanatic.

did i forget to mention what i do? looks like i did. i am a licensed public health professional currently working full-time for a non-profit advocating for safe abortion. my passion for the realms of gender, climate, health, and governance has led me to some remarkable non-profits in nepal. i am a super-sensitive ambiverted empath and an intersectional feminist.

back to my travel musings. after having done a few treks, i started this blog for myself and for you. for myself - to sate my storytelling desire, and for you - to enjoy my raw journey around the beautiful landscapes of nepal documented. as a twin benefit, i hope this comes for you as a help and an entertainment. i hope you enjoy what you find here. please share with me your own travel tales as well.
thanks for visiting !
